PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Reporting to the Facilities Supervisors, this position is responsible for the general cleanliness of City facilities to ensure they are clean and well maintained. Responsible for all areas within City-operated facilities to ensure they are clean, safe, and presentable for everyone who uses them.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms.
- Frequent cleaning of high-touch surface areas and seating areas.
- Maintaining glass cleanliness.
- Stock cleaning supplies for specific areas.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies are handled and stored in accordance with occupational health and safety requirements and internal policies and procedures.
- Waste removal as it relates to garbage, recycling and disposal of sharp objects.
- Notify supervisors/management staff of any deficiencies or repair needs.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade twelve (12) diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Class ‘G' Ontario driver's license.
- Minimum of 6 months of previous custodial or related experience.
- Some knowledge of chemicals and cleaning supplies including safe handling procedures.
- Familiarity with WHMIS and Safety Data Sheets.
