Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be a seasoned and passionate recruiter who will own full-cycle talent acquisition within the Redbrick portfolio, working closely with companies in both Canada and the USA. They will come to the team with proven experience hiring roles within the tech industry, which will allow them to hit the ground running, streamlining our processes and sourcing the best of the best. They will have the exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative and passionate People & Culture team, supporting multiple growing businesses.
*This role will be hired in Victoria BC, where they will work on a hybrid basis out of our beautiful downtown office a few days a week.
We get it, you want to know what youre signing up for before you apply, right? This is what you need to know. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist on the Redbrick Shared Services team, youll be responsible for:
- Talent Strategy: Partner with hiring managers across multiple portfolio companies to understand hiring needs and develop talent acquisition strategies that align with business goals, values and culture.
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Lead the recruitment process from sourcing to offer negotiation for a wide range of roles, including technical (software engineers, product managers), leadership, marketing, customer operations, and more.
- Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various recruiting tools, networking and social media to identify and engage top talent. Leverage innovative sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
- Employer Branding: Promote our company's values, culture, and vision through engaging content, outreach, and candidate communication, ensuring a positive candidate experience from start to finish.
- Screening and Interviewing: Conduct interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates for fit in both skills and cultural alignment with the company. Coordinate and schedule interviews for the hiring team.
- Collaboration with Hiring Managers: Work closely with hiring managers to define and strategize on role requirements, create job descriptions, and set expectations throughout the hiring process.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Use recruiting metrics and data to inform strategies, track progress, and identify areas for improvement in the talent acquisition process.
- Talent Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings. Establish strong relationships with top-tier candidates even when no immediate hiring need is available.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Champion DEI initiatives by sourcing candidates from diverse backgrounds and ensuring that the hiring process is fair and inclusive.
- Offer and Negotiation: Manage the offer process, including compensation packages and negotiations, while ensuring a seamless experience for candidates.
- 3rd Party Relationships: Manager relationships with external recruitment partners.

- Youve worked with the Director of People and Culture to carve out goals and accomplishments for your first 3, 6 and 12 months
- You are well versed in Redbrick language and all our portfolio companies, with a deep understanding of your specific portfolio
- You are comfortable navigating all our people systems and ATS
- You have had 1:1 intro meetings with all of our hiring managers
- You have a solid understanding our hiring process and used your knowledge and experience to suggest areas of improvement/opportunity
- You have taken on your first few roles
- After 6 months
- You have used people metrics to provide talent insights People & Culture leadership
- You have streamlined talent acquisition processes to allow scalability and improve the candidate experience
- Youve successfully hired and onboarded several team members
- Youre building a robust hiring funnel through nurturing internal and external relationships and building the Redbrick employer brand

- Experience: 4+ years of experience in talent acquisition within the tech industry or working with tech-focused companies.
- Skills: Proven ability to recruit for a variety of roles, from technical positions (software engineers, product managers) to non-technical roles (marketing, operations, leadership).
- Strong Sourcing Skills: Expertise in sourcing candidates through multiple channels (LinkedIn, job boards, networking, etc.) and an understanding of how to tap into both active and passive talent pools.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Cultural Fit Focus: A deep understanding of how to assess candidates for both skill fit and alignment with company values and culture.
- Data-Driven: Ability to use recruiting analytics to measure success and improve processes.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruiting software, and other HR technologies to streamline processes.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities across different companies.
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
