Transit Driver - Casual Position

PWTransit is currently seeking a casual Conventional / Custom Transit Driver to join our team in Kitimat. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers and must be committed to providing superior customer service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities.

Wage: $28.50 per hour + $3.90 Temporary LNG Supplement

Position Requirements:

• A valid Class 1 or 2 driver's license with air brakes
• Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
• Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
• Clear criminal record
• Must be organized, punctual and reliable
• Possess excellent driving skills and habits
• Ability to read maps and navigate
• Ability to communicate effectively
• A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
• Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary (transit service may operate 7 days per week, 17 hours per day)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
• Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
• Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
• Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries

• This position may require working shifts, including split shifts, as well as weekends and statutory holidays
