We're growing! And looking to welcome an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team for the position of Associate Building Operator located in Windsor, ON! This full-time, live-in position is ideal for someone who thrives on hands-on technical work and thrives on challenges!
What we look for:
- Maintaining the physical integrity of the building through general maintenance and cleaning.
- Assisting in managing and maintaining the buildings in the assigned portfolio in a safe and responsible manner, while ensuring ongoing tenant satisfaction and retention, with the guidance from the Building Operator.
- Completing physically demanding work which includes the use of ladders, and power tools.
- Applying knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance and repair requests from the Property Manager or commercial tenants to address emergencies and urgent after-hours requests.
- Ensure completion of preventative maintenance on site, including annual inspections of fire and life safety systems, HVAC maintenance, plumbing, electrical, annual backflow testing, etc.
- Contributing to operational excellence through tasks being completed within Skyline standards, and in line with all applicable provincial legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, Boiler and Pressure Vessels Safety Devices Act, Commercial Tenancies Act, and the Human Rights Code.
- Working knowledge of building management gained through experience in a similar position including a direct involvement and understanding of HVAC, fire protection and security systems, life safety systems, plumbing, pumps, motors, roofs, leasehold construction.
- Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, and locksmith work.
- Ability to interpreting architectural drawings and blueprints, as applied to technical areas.
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of related workplace experience, or a combination of related education and work experience.
- Knowledge of Regional policies, procedures, and standards; industry standards; municipal by-laws; local utilities' standards; American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers standards; as well as Provincial legislation, including fire codes, building codes, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Boiler and Pressure Vessels Safety Devices Act.
