The Senior Project Manager (SAGD) plays a pivotal role within the project management team, coordinating engineering disciplines and overseeing design execution for SAGD projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAGD project design, particularly in the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) phase, and possess a thorough understanding of project scope before the initiation of detailed design.

The Senior Project Manager (SAGD) plays a pivotal role within the project management team, coordinating engineering disciplines and overseeing design execution for SAGD projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAGD project design, particularly in the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) phase, and possess a thorough understanding of project scope before the initiation of detailed design.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project management team to coordinate engineering disciplines and design efforts during the execution of oil and gas projects, with a focus on SAGD.
- Manage the design development and technical content of the project, ensuring all phases of work align with project scope and specifications, particularly during the FEED stage.
- Communicate regularly with client representatives, using effective communication skills to liaise between the client and internal teams.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory processes, codes, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to drive design development and ensure project deliverables meet all operational and safety requirements.
- Coordinate design reviews with clients and process engineering teams.
- Foster business growth by encouraging repeat business and generating new client relationships.

- In-depth technical knowledge of oil and gas engineering, with a particular focus on SAGD projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of discipline engineering functions.
- Solid grasp of project planning and controls, with a focus on EPCM execution.
- Experience in managing the planning and execution of SAGD or CSS central processing facilities.
- Familiarity with steam boilers and OTSGs.
- Experience in EPC (lump sum) project delivery models.
- Construction experience is advantageous.
- Broad expertise in water supply and disposal wells, access roads, and utility corridors.
Education & Qualifications
- A Canadian Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation is required.
- A degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience with Central Processing Facilities (CPF), including at least 5 years in an EPCM role, specifically within SAGD projects.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) designation is an asset.
