Activate is a tech company known for creating Canadas first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Revenue & Treasury Accountant. A successful applicant will be expected to work with the finance team and Activate partners. The ideal candidate will be an individual with accounting experience able to manage daily financial transactions, manage partner invoicing/accounts receivables, assist with month-end financial reporting and support cash flow management. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Controller.
The Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily Transaction Management
- Oversee the timely capture of daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Download transaction lists from relevant sources, upload data into the ERP system, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and matched for accounting purposes.
- Maintain detailed and organized records to support audit and compliance requirements.
Invoicing & Accounts Receivable
- Generate and issue internal and external invoices promptly to ensure a smooth revenue cycle.
- Collaborate with partners to receive and verify sales data.
- Ensure all invoices are delivered to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain clear communication with partners to address inquiries regarding invoicing and payment discrepancies.
Month-End Closing Activities
- Prepare and post necessary month-end journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to the trial balance and investigate any discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in preparing month-end financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Treasury Operations
- Support the management of cash flow by monitoring and forecasting cash balances.
- Assist in maintaining banking relationships and ensuring compliance with treasury policies and procedures.
Process Improvement and Compliance
- Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline accounting and treasury functions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
The Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on revenue and treasury management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an asset.
