Summer Student – Public Operations
Public Works and Environmental Services Responsibilities
1.Hydrant maintenance including painting.
2.General labour including weed whipping and grass cutting.
3.GPS locating of infrastructure.
4.Work special evens when needed.
5.Assist staff when needed.
6.Shop and fleet organization
7.Other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Requirements and General Qualifications
•Must be at least 16 years of age by May 1, 2025.
•Must be in full time attendance at a Secondary School, University or Community College recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education and returning to school in September 2025.
•Have and maintain a valid G2 or G driver's licence.
•Experience operating hand held tools and lawn maintenance equipment including tractors and related equipment.
Working Conditions
•40 hours per week.
•Evening and weekend shifts may be required.
•Working outside in various weather conditions.
Hourly Rate of Pay:
$18.00 hour first year students
$20.00 hour second year students
