The Opportunity
As our Fund Development Officer, you will take the lead in driving our fundraising strategies, ensuring they exceed expectations and align seamlessly with the Ys mission of fostering belonging and building strong, healthy communities. In this full-time role, you will connect with donors, volunteers, and community members to support our Annual Campaign and Endowment Fund. Responsibilities
- Support the Annual Campaign by coordinating activities, liaising with external partners, and energizing staff and volunteers.
- Research and apply for grants to support Y services and programs, working closely with staff to meet funding requirements and deadlines.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, alumni, YMCA staff, and members of the community to enhance fundraising efforts.
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate impactful events such as the Red Triangle Awards.
- Maintain the donor database, ensuring accuracy and timely stewardship of donor relationships.
- Review and analyze monthly donor reports and campaign metrics, presenting insights and adjusting strategies to achieve optimal results.
- Fulfill administrative duties for the Y Endowment Fund, aligning with the annual work plan.
- Collaborate with the Fundraising Committee to meet annual fund development goals.
- Contribute to internal reporting by completing monthly metrics, preparing reports, and making informed recommendations to improve fundraising strategies.
- Other duties as mutually agreed upon to support the success of the Fund Development team.
Skills and Qualifications
- A relevant post-secondary degree.
- 1-2 years of related experience, either paid or volunteer.
- Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle. (Required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Raisers Edge and Canva is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate relationships with donors, volunteers, and community members.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Proven ability to analyze reports, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
