Activate is a tech company known for creating Canadas first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Financial Reporting Leader. A successful applicant will be expected to work with the Finance team and Executive Leadership of other departments. The ideal candidate will be an individual with financial reporting experience to lead the financial reporting process, implement process improvements and provide financial analysis to contribute inform Executive Leadership decision making. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Director of Finance.
The Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Lead the development, preparation, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to inform decision making for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to streamline the monthly close process and reduce close cycle time.
- Provide financial analysis of operations by evaluating trends, studying revenue opportunities, establishing critical measurements for Activates expansion
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership of other departments to ensure alignment of financial strategy and resource allocation
- Provides on-going support to the team in evaluating the impact of the data
- Subject matter expert and thought leader in leveraging financial analytics to drive business results
Compliance
- Review and reconcile complex financial and accounting records, addressing inconsistencies and ensuring integrity
- Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross team processes with a focus on sustainable value creation for all stakeholders
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls and process improvement to ensure accuracy and compliance
The Qualifications:
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field, CPA designation
- Excellent analytical skills, problem solving and a strong business sense.
- 3-5+ years of experience in similar roles.
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
