HTH is a womens anti-violence organization with a mandate to end all violence against all women. Guided by intersectional feminism the mandate steers the organization to address violence against women both individually and systematically. HTH operates five distinct programs throughout Simcoe County: La Maison Rosewood Shelter, Athenas Sexual Assault Counselling & Advocacy Centre, Choices for Children OG, and a specialized anti-human trafficking program
La Maison Rosewood Shelter is currently seeking relief Crisis Counsellors. Working in a fast-paced environment and meeting multiple demands of residents, the Crisis Counsellor is scheduled for 12.5 hour shifts on an as needed basis often with short notice; Shifts are both day and night.
The successful candidate must possess:
- knowledge of the impacts of violence against women, an understanding of harm reduction;
- the ability to provide telephone and in person crisis counselling services including information exchange, referrals and emotional support;
- strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
- french language fluency preferred.
Compensation is $26.70/hour.
