Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review detailed Civil3D models for land development, municipal infrastructure, and transportation projects.
- Create and oversee erosion and sediment control plans, grading, servicing, stormwater management, and site plan drawings.
- Prepare plan, profile, section, and earthworks drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Lead the coordination of designs and drawings with internal team members and external consultants.
- Represent the company in client and stakeholder meetings, fostering strong relationships and identifying business development opportunities.
- Ensure projects meet approval authority guidelines, by-laws, and codes.
- Mentor and train junior technologists and EITs on best practices in civil design and drafting.
- Proactively improve design and modeling techniques to enhance team efficiency.
- Conduct occasional site visits to collect field data, review contractor progress, and document findings in standardized reports.
- Support construction reviews to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Prepare engineering reports and support technical documentation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of company processes and standards.
- Other duties as assigned by Civil Division Manager/Team Lead.
- Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible for or holding a C.Tech., C.E.T. designation through OACETT or L.E.T. designation PEO are preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in land development, municipal infrastructure, and/or transportation engineering.
- Strong knowledge of approval processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil3D and MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to coach and mentor junior technicians/technologists.
- Exceptional drafting skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High level of organization and time management.
- Commitment to professional development and a collaborative team environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
