Experienced Bookkeeper Needed for Short-Term Contract
REAL-R is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper for our location in Cochrane, AB. with 3-5 years of experience in a CPA firm for a short-term contract position, primarily focused on personal tax preparation.
Job OverviewAs a contract Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in our team during the upcoming tax season. Your primary responsibility will be preparing personal tax returns for our diverse clientele, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare personal tax returns from start to finish
- Review and organize client financial documents
- Enter data accurately into tax preparation software
- Reconcile accounts and verify financial information
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and clarify financial details
- Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations
- Assist with other bookkeeping tasks as needed
- 3-5 years of experience as a Bookkeeper in a CPA firm
- Strong knowledge of personal tax preparation and current tax laws
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and QuickBooks
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field
- Bookkeeping certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper)
- Experience with complex tax situations and high-net-worth individuals
- Experience with employee, sole-practioner, and rental income tax situations.
- Duration: February to June
- Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday, plus Saturdays for four hours during tax season.
- Location: In office. No virtual work available
