Reports to: Executive Director
Position Overview: The Human Experience Manager is responsible for implementing and sustaining the Butterfly-informed culture of emotion-based, person-centered care and living in the home.
Responsibilities:
- Advocate and be a catalyst for resident quality of life, identifying roadblocks and working with all team members to overcome them.
- Role model person-centred behaviour (conduct) in every interaction - actively and positively influencing the conduct of others through the same.
- Ensure the emotional well-being of residents is held as high as clinical outcomes, employing appropriate risk management methods.
- Train all team members (managers and frontline) on the culture of emotion-based, person-centred care and help grow team members' competencies.
- Gauge the well-being of team members and advocate for the same, identifying roadblocks and working with all team members to overcome them.
- Partner with Residents' and Family Councils, other committees within the home, and all third party caregivers to advance resident quality of life.
- Nurture and mentor Butterfly (or Human Experience) Champions as these take foot in our homes.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Butterfly Implementation Project Leader - or a peer in the accredited Butterfly home who has demonstrated active involvement and knowledge during the project.
- Demonstrated understanding of Quality of Interactions Schedule (QUIS) techniques and emotion-based, person-centred role modelling.
- Experience and background in social services and/or recreation.
- Social Worker degree or Recreational diploma - or equivalent.
- High energy individual, able to influence others by example and personal leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Work to an approved plan, organize associated activities without supervisor prompts, and execute them with limited supervision involvement and close team member collaboration.
- Coordinate Home Leadership team and frontline team members to meet accreditation project timelines and deliverables.
- Role model emotion-based, person-centredness towards residents and team members.
- Train audiences with regard to MCM Butterfly training materials and all associated content.
- Escalate concerns on an as-needed and timely basis, with consideration as to how to address the same.
- Perform emotional risk assessments using the MCM framework, working collaboratively with all required parties.
- Exercise emotional maturity and intelligence, as required by the role.
- Accurately self-assess areas of personal strength and opportunity - take action on the latter, including by coaching and mentoring relations.
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal
- Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
- As a condition of employment, candidates are required to submit documented results of TB testing (within the last six months or within 14 days upon hire) or a chest X-ray (within the last year), as per Public Health requirements.
- Two supervisory references are required.
- Provide proof of all required vaccines. The Employer strongly recommends to “stay up to date” with the recommended vaccines. Vaccination requirements are subject to changes as determined by the Employer.
