Join our clients growing team as a Site Superintendent, leading a skilled crew in daily maintenance and repair of a busy garden center. You'll prioritize tasks, manage equipment, ensure safety, and maintain high work standards. This hands-on role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to temperature changes and heights in a retail setting. Ideal for a safety-focused leader committed to creating a functional, welcoming environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prioritize projects, assign work tasks to crew members, maintain a clean and safe jobsite. Lead crew and participate in performing a wide variety of garden center maintenance tasks such as replacing greenhouse glazing systems, roof coverings, structural repairs, downspout and gutter repairs, break/fix calls, as well as emergency storm response.
• Instruct employees in proper work methods and standards; monitor crew work quality; ensure adherence to time schedules and safe work practices.
• Operate all equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks such as scissor lifts, forklifts, shooting boom forklifts, etc.
• Assist with administrative tasks and communicates with Project Managers on schedule and progress updates.
• Participates in on-call status during natural disasters or inclement weather.

Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment utilized in basic garden center maintenance.
• Considerable knowledge of work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with assigned area of work.
• Working knowledge of leadership skills including communications, motivation, and performance feedback.
• Intermediate skill in the operation of computers and related equipment.
• Basic skill in writing routine reports and documents.
• Ability to assign and supervise the work of others, provide instruction, lead a small crew and inspire confidence.
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and construction drawings.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, store managers, associates, and the public.
• Travel: Ability to travel 90%-100% of the time (Local sites)
