Who You Are:

• Minimum five (5) years of machining experience, including supervisory experience.
• Journeypersons Certificate or equivalent experience as a Machinist preferred.
• Ability to program and edit machine codes, with experience in API threads on Weiler controls being an asset.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Sigma Six, and/or other Continuous Improvement experience is an asset.
• Extensive knowledge of tooling, calibrated equipment, part loading & clamping, and machine maintenance.
• Experience in Oil & Gas and Mining machining.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent leadership and team management abilities.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained for yourself, team members, and customers.
• Provide training and oversee in-shop orientation of new employees.
• Foster a positive work environment focused on continuous improvement in quality, health & safety, and productivity.
• Set up and operate both lathes and mills (both CNC and Manual); monitor machines – attention to all indicators to ensure efficiency.
• Manage work orders, documenting progress, and addressing any issues promptly.
• Machine various oilfield and mining components in single or multiple operations, including performing complex programming.
• Ensure the assigned work is completed in a timely manner – assisting in assigning and explaining daily tasks to machinists, monitoring work progress and compliance with policies and procedures, and training and assisting machinists.
• Record measurements, fill out inspection log sheets, and perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
• Liaise with all necessary departments to resolve issues related to machining, production, employee relations, health & safety, engineering, quality, etc. Also, recommend measures to enhance quality results, production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
