The Opportunity
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the efficient and safe packaging of furniture products. This role involves a variety of tasks, including inspecting, packing, and securing furniture for shipment. If you are a detail-oriented individual who enjoys hands-on work and is interested in honing your organizational and problem-solving skills, then this is the job for you!
Responsibilities
- Inspect and check furniture for any damage before packing on skids and boxes.
- Select the correct size skid for packing and perform other duties as required in assembly and packing department, when assigned by Supervisor or Lead Hand.
- Move furniture off the assembly line with manual lift cart and move furniture to the skid.
- Place and stack furniture on skids or in boxes and ensure that the furniture is not damaged.
- Place the corners and foam between the furniture to prevent scratches and rubbing during transportation. Use Honey Combe in boxes for protection.
- Place corners on all sides of the Furniture/ Tops on the skid and secure corners before wrapping the skid.
- Wrap the skid of furniture/ tops with shrink wrap and ensure that the shrink wrap is tied to the skid.
- Wrap the skid 4 to 5 times with the shrink wrap.
- Place the 2-mill plastic cover on top of the Furniture and wrap the skid once more.
- Attach skid label to the skid with tape and move skid to shipping with pump truck.

- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years working in a Manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Proficient fluency to communicate, understand and write in English.
- Must be able to read tape measure.
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions from Lead Hand, Supervisor or Management.
- Provide support and communicate effectively with team members as required.
- Must be able to use a pump truck to move skids to shipping department and other areas.
- Ability to drive a Forklift is considered an asset.
- When required, able to lift materials up to 50 pounds and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them and to move, bend, twist or maintain awkward body positions while performing work.
- Must be able to stand and walk for 8.0 hours per shift, as required.
- Has good hand and eye co-ordination and muscular control sufficient to operate tools or equipment and to see closely and/or listen intently to achieve very detailed results and/or detect flaws or errors.
- Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must understand good housekeeping practices.

- Compensation package offering $19.19 per hour
- Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects may be required.
- Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Will be required to stand and walk for 8.0 hours a day.
- May be required to work overtime as required.
- May be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturing.
- Must be required to use PPE.
