The Guest Services Agent plays a vital role in establishing a positive experience for our guests as they are the first interaction when both making reservations and arriving on property. The Guest Services Agent sells room nights ensuring best fit for inbound guests, maximizing revenue opportunities. Additionally, the welcoming procedures are executed smoothly, delivering an elevated guest experience. This role is the face of the Front Office and is positioned to gain exemplary understanding of operations.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Day to day operation of the front desk; check-in, check-out of guests
- Complete both telephone and in person reservation inquiries for rooms
- Process payments for credit card, debit, direct bill and cash transactions
- Manage daily email, replying to communication daily
- Coordinate operational needs to Housekeeping and Maintenance
- Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
- Provide nightly after-hours / emergency on-call coverage on a rotating schedule
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Experience required within a Front Office or Reservations team or related customer-facing role
- Proficiency with computers systems required, such as Microsoft, Office systems
- Working knowledge of hotel systems, specifically RDP is an asset
- A valid driver license is a must with regular use of a reliable vehicle will be required to reach East Sooke
- Professional, well organized and delights in demonstrating your passion for guest service and anticipate guests needs
- Team player, self-starter, with the ability to effectively work independently
- Focused individual with excellent attention to detail and numbers, with basic understanding of accounting concepts and excellent problem-solving abilities
- Post-secondary education in hospitality, or a related field would be an benefit
- Physical ability to work in a seated or standing role with limited ability to bend, crouch, climb stairs and being in motion for prolonged periods
