The Panel Technician will take day to day work instruction from the Supervisor and work in conjunction with the Building Operators and the Loaders to ensure the safe and efficient loading of all rail cars.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Knowing and understanding applicable procedures, operating procedures, basic maintenance and escalation requirements.
- Housekeeping the control room
- Ownership of the load area ensuring that all loaded cares are recorded and identified correctly
- Operates the loading panel in conjunction with plant requirements
- Identifies areas of improvement
- Supports outside loading tasks with direction or communication
- Support Yardmaster with real yard inquiries, providing assistance to Supervisors and crews as required.
- Assumes Immediate Response Leader role, as required
- Collaborates closely with the Plant Board Operator to achieve desired production goals for the shift
- Escalate loading issues to the Supervisor, Logistics Coordinator and or Loading Advisor. Provide support to assist in resolution of equipment issues.
- Issue SWP's and IOES for the Loading building
- Provide training and mentorship to the operators
- Complete updates and communicate completions with the Supervisors
- Complete updates and communicate completions with Yardmaster and/or Supervisor
- Create Logbook entry
- Generate SAP reports and LIMIS entries
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
- Meets all Contractor Panel Technical training requirements.
- Certified IRL within 6 months of completing training requirements.
- Pre-requisite: Building Operator
Education & Experience
- Hold all industrial switching regulatory and customer requirements and standards relating to operations at the site including but not limited to safety critical medical requirements, customer safety certifications, and CROR certification
