Before and After School Educator

Umbrella Family's Before and After (B&A) School Educators enjoy the freedom and flexibility of a work-life balance with a split shift (morning and afternoon) while focusing on what they love, early childhood education.

The Before and After School Educator role is ideal for you if you prioritize flexibility, balance, and enjoy the benefits of an afternoon break in-between your shifts.
What to expect:
  • Balance Work and Life: Before and After School Educators first shift is from 7:00 am until 9:00 am and second from 2:30 pm until 6:00 pm (shift times may vary depending on location).
  • Togetherness: Before and After School Educators create something special by partnering with the Program Leaders and fellow educators to build a positive and welcoming environment.
  • Be Impactful: Develop activities to stimulate all areas of development, with integration of your observed interests of children.
  • Feel Supported: Before and After School Educators will be scheduled for allocated Programming Time, allowing you to plan and prepare for your program based on children's interest and needs.

What are we looking for:
  • Experience working with children OR related experience in a childcare setting, working with school aged children
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education, or Child and Youth, or Recreation and Leisure;
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven teaching abilities to meet the diverse the learning styles of children from 4 -12 years of age
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Level C Certificate
  • Record of up-to-date immunizations for TB, Tetanus and MMR
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccines
  • Registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable)
