We are seeking an experienced Gas Fitter to work in our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas lines and equipment used within our facility. This role focuses primarily on gas connections—no threading required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Maintenance: Install, inspect, test, and maintain all gas systems and appliances in the facility, including piping, valves, gas meters, and gas-fired heating equipment.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose issues with gas lines and appliances and carry out necessary repairs. Ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all gas installations and systems meet local codes and regulations, including G1 standards, and conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Report any safety hazards or potential issues to the Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance personnel and departments to ensure the smooth operation of all systems within the manufacturing facility.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency gas system failures or leaks promptly, following safety procedures and assisting in the resolution of issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving gas system efficiency and safety and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid G1 Gas Fitter Certificate (mandatory).
- Proven experience in gas fitting, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of gas system installation, maintenance, and safety standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of gas appliances and systems.
- Familiarity with local gas codes and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds .
- Ability to work in confined spaces and in various environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, and noisy environments).
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
