ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the company's financial operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting, this position offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a talented team and lead financial reporting, audit, and tax compliance for a dynamic organization in the real estate and investment sector. Youll contribute to the companys success by identifying process improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting investor relations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting and Finance

- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end reports required to be delivered to limited partners and stakeholders

- Review current processes and workflow; identify deficiencies and implement improvements

- Monitoring and management of cash of the partnerships and manager

- Assist with all aspects of external loan calculations, recording and reporting, including ensuring all loan covenants and conditions are met

- Understanding and interpreting Loan Agreements, Partnership Agreements, Management Agreements and other technical documents as they arise

- Assist with investor relations-related activities

- Perform other related duties as required by Director of Financing and Accounting

Audit and Tax

- Prepare financial statements and tax returns, audited as well as internal.

- Ensure all tax fillings are prepared and submitted on a timely basis to regulatory authorities and to investors.

- Liaise with external advisors, and support with coordinating activities to ensure an efficient process.

- Coordinating the preparation of Partnership (T5013) and Corporate (T2) returns

Leadership and Strategy

- Supervise and review the work of the Senior Corporate Accountant. fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

- Provide insights through financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis.

- Participate in strategic discussions with leadership, contributing to the groups vision

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

- Must be a CPA with 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

- Knowledge and understanding of the public securities markets and real estate industry is preferred.

- Understanding and experience in full-cycle accounting

- Exceptional experience in financial modelling, forecasting and variance analysis.

- Experience in managing and scaling a team

- Experience with QuickBooks, Profile Tax and Concur software knowledgewill be considered an asset

- Ability to systematically manage a challenging workload and meet stringent deadlines
