Job Summary

Fluor Driver Inc. is currently seeking reliable, detail-oriented Janitors for a Turnaround in Sarnia, ON. The successful candidate's responsibilities will be to safely and effectively perform general janitorial duties in an industrial maintenance environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility by: sweeping, dusting, waxing, mopping, scrubbing, washing windows, bathrooms, interior walls and ceilings vents; as well as vacuuming and sanitizing all areas.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, toilets and fixtures.
  • Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
  • Constantly push the janitorial cleaning cart between working areas - Loads can consist of up to 50 lbs.
  • Restock necessary supplies such as paper towels, soap, toilet paper, etc.
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock as needed, ensuring an adequate supply of cleaning materials and tools.
  • Conduct site inspections and report any potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance related issues promptly to the shift supervisor.
  • Ensure that cleaning tasks are well-coordinated and completed efficiently, adapting to changing priorities as necessary.
  • Strictly follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness.

Key Characteristics

  • Physically Demanding on the body; Bending, crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, pushing and walking at all times throughout the shift (Averaging 20,000 Steps+ daily)
  • Must be able to lift heavy loads
  • Repetitive Tasks working long hours daily.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written communications in English.

Education

  • Experience in industrial maintenance facility is an asset.
  • Certified in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS).
  • Ability to use Personal protective equipment (PPE) and following best practices to ensure personal and workplace safety.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.

Position Information

  • Located in Sarnia, ON
  • Call-out work only, possibly leading to full time
  • Afternoon Shifts - 3:30pm to 12:00am
