We are looking for an Accounting Manager to manage all areas of financial reporting. In this role you will develop and maintain accounting procedures, practices, and principles to ensure timely and accurate financial statements. You will be responsible for preparing a general ledger, journal entries and other bookkeeping functions in the NetSuite ERP to assist with the timely and accurate preparation of a monthly financial close. You will be responsible for leading and coaching the accounting team of 3, and reviewing finance-related work of other team members for accuracy and compliance with financial standards.

*This role will be required to work from the office minimum 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage accounting transaction flow and documentation for PureLogic professional services practice including the capture of employee and subcontractor hours, cost of service, billing rates, allocations to various, projects direct and administrative expenses. Work closely with project managers to assure timely recognition of WIP, invoicing and proper revenue recognition.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Finance department including managing accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, corporate credit cards, payroll JEs and employee expenses etc.
  • Lead, coach and support Accounting Clerks to deliver an exceptional level of service that ensures customer satisfaction and promotes a collaborative PureLogic working culture.
  • Review and approve financial transactions to ensure transactions are appropriately classified, presented, and disclosed with appropriate supporting documentation captured in NetSuite and our DocuPhase document management system.
  • Coordinate closely with members of the Operations and Professional Services groups to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and processing of accounts payable.
  • Perform regular G/L analysis and monthly bank and account reconciliations; highlighting to management relevant financial issues with strategic and operational impacts and recommend options toward resolution of issues.
  • Responsible for compliance with statutory reporting requirements including income tax, sales tax and other government authorities.
  • Prepare payroll semimonthly journal entries, complete commission calculations/statements, review employee related expenses and reconcile monthly benefits invoices to payroll.
  • Oversee new customer and vendor onboarding processes and follow strict verbal transfer verification procedures to combat fraudulent social engineering attempts to change or modify payment details.
  • Be alert and advocate for projects that can achieve operational efficiencies, workflow process improvements and pursuing other special projects as required.
  • Making sure members of the finance team meet all financial reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of related accounting experience with solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Completion of a CPA designation (CA, CMA or CGA) desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Federal Government procurement and contracting vehicles is highly recommended.
  • Passionate about leading teams and mentoring to deliver top quality results on a timely basis, while fostering our team spirit of a fun, respectful environment.
  • Experience working in a multi-currency and multi-entity environment; with mid-tier ERP system (preferably NetSuite) and applications.
  • Advanced Excel skills, prior experience with NetSuite ERP and business visualization/analytics technologies such as Qlik Sense, Tableau or Power BI is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • University degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
