ARENA AND HOME CARE MAINTENANCE WORKER (FULL-TIME)

SCHEDULE: WEDNESDAY to SUNDAY (WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: HOME CARE MAINTENANCE; SATURDAY - SUNDAY: ARENA OPERATIONS)

Eagle Lake First Nation is seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to assist with Arena operations on weekends and provide Home Care Maintenance support during the week. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who values variety in their workday and is committed to supporting community wellness and recreation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ARENA OPERATIONS:
- Supervise arena activities, ensuring the health and safety of all participants during public skating and hockey tournaments.
- Operate the Zamboni and perform basic ice maintenance.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Carry out janitorial duties, including cleaning the entrance area, dressing rooms, and walkways, as well as disposing of garbage.
- Maintain the property, ensuring all entrances, pathways, and bathrooms are clean and safe.
- Keep walkways, parking lots, and arena grounds clear of snow and debris.
- Maintain daily checklists, records, and reports for operational and health & safety purposes.
HOME CARE MAINTENANCE:
- Provide snow removal for elders and individuals with disabilities, including shoveling driveways, roofs, and pathways.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
- Clean wood stoves and oil heaters.
- Assist clients with heavy lifting and other tasks when necessary.
- Offer general support and client assistance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed high school education or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid G class drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills (preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of mechanical equipment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
