Salary:
VEE Inc. is looking for experienced Dorst Maintenance Technician for our client located in Ancaster ON.
As a member of the Maintenance team, the Dorst Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisors. The Dorst Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of CNC, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Repairs and maintains CNC, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment
- Repairs and maintains die sets, trollies, and tool rigs
- Responsible for PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Interprets Operating & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, diagrams, schematics, prints, and recommends revisions
- Responds to emergency equipment failures
- Diagnoses problems and makes repairs. Where appropriate, identifies additional resources needed and works with those resources to complete the repairs / project
- Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system to record all work performed, source equipment parts, equipment history, and modify and update work status as required
- Maintains a good working relationship with all colleagues, customers and contractors through collaboration, communication and team work.
- Participates in design reviews and equipment upgrades.
- Reviews preventive maintenance program tasks to eliminate routine breakdowns.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensures all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable codes
- Ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 are conformed to
- Adheres to Stackpoles policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Our requirements :
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License 433A and/or Minimum Post Secondary Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Technician Diploma.
- Graduate of one of the following programs is preferred: Electro Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technician Fluid Power Automation/ Programmable Logic Controller Program
- Certified Fluid Power Hydraulics Specialist
- Three to five years of relevant experience is required.
Technical & Skill Requirements:
- Requires a thorough knowledge of hydraulic circuits, electric and pneumatic actuators, mechanical drives, and other related equipment
- Strong electrical aptitude
- Computer literate
- Proven controls experience
- Must possess a good understanding of safety practices as mandated under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
WORK ENVIRONMENT (including Physical Demands):
- Conventional day/afternoon/night rotation
- Willing to work overtime
- Exposure to noise, heights, confined spaces, poor lighting conditions, material, products and byproducts associated with the manufacturing of powered metal components, exposure to metal working fluids, temperatures, and weather extremes that require the use of specialized protective devices, clothing or equipment
- Required to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding to access elevations, able to crouch for periods of time, push, pull, lift, and turn while carrying tools, material and equipment in various parts of the facility. Excessive walking. Operate material handling equipment including cranes, lift trucks chain hoists etc.
