Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Senior Estimator is tasked with accomplishing department activities regarding all Estimator duties. The Senior Estimator is responsible for maintaining a proper balance between the profitability of the company and the achievement of total customer satisfaction.

Salary Range: $70,000.00- $80,000.00 per annum.

Location(s): The ideal candidate will be able to work onsite at 61 McPherson Street (L3R 3L3).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates for all production jobs based on customer specifications as received from Clientele, Customer Service Representatives, and Management.
  • Ensure the team processes customer RFQs (Requests for Quotes) in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.
  • Organize department workflow to meet customer deadlines.
  • Ensure the team effectively presents and discusses the products and services of the company.
  • Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.
  • Manage team telephone calls professionally, efficiently and with good communication skills.
  • Attend customer complaints and concerns immediately, and facilitate satisfactory resolution.
  • Train new and existing staff on processes and procedures.
  • Supervise staff members and if necessary conduct performance reviews and/or performance corrections.
  • Maintain pricing and discount terms and allowances continuously. Develop knowledge of best suppliers and competitive prices, and stay abreast of pricing changes.
  • Manage the computerized Estimator system, updating it regularly with customer information as required.
  • Work with cost accounting to determine hourly rates and production standards for various operations.
  • Coordinate with the management team to determine timeline requirements of proposed jobs where applicable.
  • Develop knowledge of inventory position, quantity stocked, usage, and reorder point.
  • Research and recommend cost saving potential to management.
  • Management of Estimator members inclusive of performance management.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of team members.
  • Participate in and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide a positive, motivating example for employees.
  • Conduct, delegate or authorize training of creative employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Print Estimator experience.
  • Knowledgeable of printing processes and supplies, and purchasing methods.
  • Experience in sales and/or customer service.
  • Familiarity with printing operations.
  • Excellent command of the English language in both written and oral forms.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills e.g. working well with others, communication, positiveattitude.
  • Ability to understand customers needs and requirements and relate to production processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, possessing a sales aptitude and interested in preventing errors and solving problems.
  • Must be computer literate and current on new technology.
  • Must be hard working, a self-starter and a problem solver.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional phone and customer service skills, positive and upbeat attitude.
