Position Summary:Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Account Manager focuses on acquiring new customers through cold calling, calling assigned leads and growing their existing accounts and book of business. In addition to generating and growing profitable sales, the role will also undertake some administrative tasks/functions to support their accounts as required in conjunction with the customer service team.
Responsibilities & Expectations:Sales Focus
- Cold Calling:
- Product and industry campaigns will be created by Marketing and rolled out with the Inside Sales team.
- Cold calls new perspective customers.
- Follows up with all assigned customer leads received to ensure the following:
- Timely contact with leads.
- Identifies high-quality leads.
- Works with others within the sales department as required to close on opportunities from leads.
- Documents all activity with leads in the Company's CRM tool.
- Sells products to their established customers and book of business, with the goal of growing profitable sales with that customer. Where accounts are grown to a large volume, transitions accounts over to Key Account Managers as directed by the Vice President of Sales.
- Follows-up and responds to general inquiries from customers.
- Working with the VP of Sales and others as required, provides quotes to customers.
- Proactively looks to educate and create awareness of Bioriginal products.
- Possibility of attending industry related tradeshows in Canada and abroad. Develop and execute on any strategies at each trade show attendance.
- Ensures all sales activities are completed to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the position.
Administrative Focus
- Work closely with the Customer Service team to ensure proper support is provided with orders generated, including:
- Processing purchase orders
- Maintaining accurate dates of sales orders
- Updating CRM as required
- Providing customer support, including taking calls and answering questions on orders
- Working with the Customer Service team, ensures all customer complaints and issues are logged into the Company's NCR database and provides any support required to ensure NCR's are resolved.
- Communicates with various internal departments as required to ensure availability of products, delivery times, etc.
- Provides input into the sales forecast for the Company as required.
- Performs various account management activities as required.
- Completes special projects and assignments as requested.
- 2+ years' experience in sales and/or customer service roles within business-to-business sales environment is preferred.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit required.
- Must enjoy speaking with new people on a day-to-day basis.
- Must be able to persuade and influence individuals.
- Related post-secondary education is an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.
- Strong problem-solving skills required, with the ability to bring solutions to problems encountered.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required.
- Experience working in a food production or nutritional supplement environment is an asset.
