About Us
Ruth and Naomis Mission is a Christian faith-based organization dedicated to transforming lives impacted by homelessness, poverty, and addiction through the love of God. We are committed to creating hope-filled, life-changing opportunities for those we serve.
To further this mission, we are seeking compassionate and dedicated Recovery Support Workers to support participants in our mens and womens addiction recovery programs. Using the Genesis Process curriculuma faith-based approach to addiction recoveryalong with additional resources, youll play a vital role in guiding individuals on their recovery journey.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Recovery Support Worker, you will:
- Facilitate group and individual check-ins, as well as assist with structured group activities.
- Provide life skills guidance, problem-solving support, and general care to residents.
- Maintain detailed records and ensure the effective flow of critical information between team members.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for residents and staff alike.
- Uphold and embody RANs core values: grace, hope, people, curiosity, trust, and partnership.

Minimum Training Requirements (as per Registered Assisted Living Supportive Recovery Services Standards):
- Counseling skills
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Psychosocial interventions for substance use disorders
- Trauma-informed practice
Preferred Training and Skills (Assets):
- General knowledge of substance use and evidence-informed treatment approaches.
- Understanding and addressing stigma and discrimination in addiction care.
- Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility training.
- Anti-racism and anti-oppressive practices.
- Gender-transformative and inclusive care experience.
- Mental health support, including suicide risk assessment and crisis management.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Level 1 First Aid/CPR certification (can be acquired within 30 days of hire).
- A valid Class 4 or 5 drivers license is an asset.
Working Hours
This role includes variable shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
