DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the role is to assist in providing a data transfer service to successfully migrate financial data from third-party financial software and legal practice management software into cloud-based software and to assist in the set-up of related software integrations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transfer/migrate data from third party systems into the new platforms, to the highest possible standards using standardized conversion scripts and techniques and software.
- Perform source system (legacy) financial data analysis of chart of accounts, trial balances, A/R and A/P reports, trust listings, and general ledgers as needed to manage source to target data mapping.
- Conversion of data files between PDF/text and Excel and utilization of advanced Excel functions to manipulate data into desired formats.
- Setting up software integrations between QuickBooks Online and third-party apps (including, but not limited to CLIO Legal practice management software) to ensure accurate data communications between platforms.
- Analyze the transferred financial data in QuickBooks Online using available financial reports to ensure quality and accuracy to original data.
- Produce financial verification reports and videos relating to data transfers (proof of completion documents comparing legacy data to new data).
- Provide problem solving support to leads when problems arise from data migrations and implement accounting adjustment solutions as required.
- Communicate with client if data pieces are missing and/or respond to basic client questions and concerns, at direction of leads.
- Work with the migrations team to collectively deliver to the highest possible standards and client satisfaction.
- Creating an inventory of all data that needs to be migrated and determining how much time and effort will be required to complete the task.
- Monitoring progress on the project to ensure that it is completed on time and within budget for your role.
- Creating backup copies of client data in case the project is interrupted for any reason.
- Contribute to the creation of new processes for new software integrations/solutions.
- Assist in designing, planning, and managing the data migration process by working with leads, subject matter experts, and project team to identify, define, collate, document, and communicate the data migration requirements.
- Carry out any other reasonable management requests.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of accounting financial statements and general bookkeeping best practices is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and basic accounting theory is an asset for ensuring client reports are properly generated in the new systems.
- Experience with SQL database transformation, Microsoft Excel for data analysis and formatting; including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and file conversion.
- Experience with financial analysis and proposing solutions to complex problems.
- Embraces technology innovations and willing to adapt to new processes.
- Self-drivenindividual capable of managing budgeting project time.
- Have a strong collaborative mindset to be able to work with a fast-growing team.
- Able to brainstorm and share solutions with others.
