Crowe MacKay LLP is excited to grow our team and is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our Whitehorse team, working remotely from the Vancouver office.. The successful candidate will report to the Partners and will be a career-focused individual that is excited to join a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial firm. This individual will be an integral part of our continued growth.
The Role
- Oversee and review accounting files to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) and Canadian Auditing Standards.
- Analyze complex and/or specialized accounting issues
- Provide functional support to all partners in the Whitehorse office, aiding in the supervision and review of client engagements.
- Under the direction of a Partner, deliver industry and technical expertise through client interactions, written reports, technical work, and training materials
- Manage a portfolio of clients while ensuring their needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop
- Liaise with clients for matters relating to billings and collection
- Identify cross-service line opportunities with keen interest to develop an awareness of how to scope or scale services to the client
- Participate in the development and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
- Be a Crowe MacKay ambassador at networking events and seek interactions that could formulate into potential opportunities
- Facilitate positive internal and external business connections to develop relationships and effectively manage teams
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
What You Will Bring
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
- Minimum 7-8 years of relevant work experience in public accounting
- Extensive knowledge of and experience working with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), Accounting Standards for Not for Profit Organizations (ASNPO), Canadian Auditing Standards and Canadian Standards on Review Engagements
- Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is considered an asset
- Enjoys the challenge of identifying and resolving complicated issues related to financial reporting requirements and the research and discussion that stems from them
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required
- Experienced leader with strong team building and coaching skills
- Proficiency working with accounting and tax softwares such as Caseware, Taxprep, Quickbooks and Simply Accounting and with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel to the Whitehorse office as needed

- Competitive salary within the range of $100,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience.
