Vice President, Quality and Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive (CNE)

Wellington Health Care Alliance (WHCA) is currently accepting applications for a permanent full-time VP, Quality and Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive (CNE).
We are:
- Two corporations + one integrated management team = Wellington Health Care Alliance
- Three hospital sites: Groves Memorial Community Hospital (GMCH) in Fergus, Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH) in Mount Forest and Palmerston and District Hospital (PDH) in Palmerston.
- Located in Wellington County where staff have the luxury of choosing to live in either a rural or urban setting
- Part of the Ontario Health Team serving the residents of Guelph-Wellington.
Position Overview:
This Vice President, Quality and Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) position will be responsible for acting as a leader at WHCA and enhancing WHCA hospitals health care services commitment to the rural communities that we serve.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President, Quality and Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) will manage and implement strategic direction for the comprehensive range of clinical units at all three hospital sites and will work closely with the Chiefs of Staff and Senior Management team members.

The successful candidate will be an extraordinary relationship developer who is compassionate, engaged and a results-oriented leader with a track record of building successful teams and partnerships, who can work closely with a passionate hospital team to deliver high-quality care and outstanding patient experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Bring a high degree of executive experience and leadership insight, creativity, and enthusiasm for the directive of the WHCA Clinical departments
- Ability to leverage resources, set priorities, and negotiate solutions to complex problems in the clinical teams operations at WHCA
- Provide leadership to clinical managers to achieve clinical service delivery excellence and provide direction on day-to-day operating issues across all three sites of WHCA
- Collaborate with WHCA physician leaders including our Chiefs of Staff at both GMCH and NWHC
- Nurture team atmosphere of trust, wellbeing, engagement and professional growth
- Execute responsibilities as member of the Senior Management Team and a designated Executive under the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (BPSAA) and the Excellent Care for all Act (ECFAA)
- Participate in WHCA Administrator On-Call group to be able to support staff outside regular business hours

Qualifications:
- 10 years of advanced clinical hospital leadership experience with demonstrated success in leading clinical or operational transformation projects
- Strong operational knowledge of clinical programs
- Prior experience in a multi-site organization (preferred)
- Masters Degree in a health care related field (preferred)
- Nursing degree and currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Certified Health Care Executive (CHE) and a strong understanding of the LEADS Framework (preferred)
- Comprehensive knowledge of standards of care, professional standards, best practice, evidence-informed decision making, legislative requirements, risk management and quality improvement
- Strong interpersonal and team development skills
- The ability to build relationships and work well different personalities
- Familiarity with current trends, opportunities and best practices in health care industry
- Valid drivers license and travel insurance at all times and a reliable vehicle
Additional Qualifications:
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
Hours of Work:
- 37.5 hours per week
- The majority of the work will be completed during normal business hours Monday to Friday
- Occasionally attendance at meetings/hospital events during non-traditional hours (early morning, evenings and weekends) is required
- Required to be part of the afterhours administration on-call team
Salary:
- $74.41 - $87.59 per hour
Your home office site will be negotiated. This position requires travel amongst the three hospital sites and therefore a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
