Reporting to: Facility Manager of Cowan Park Sportsplex
Department: Parks and Recreation
Classification: Part-Time; Unionized
Salary Range: $17.86-$18.41/hour as per Schedule “A”
Starting Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities:
1. Maintain the building:
  • Perform custodial duties:
    • Mop and wax floors,
    • Clean washrooms, change rooms and showers,
    • Mold removal,
    • Sweep and wash floors, stairs, bleachers,
    • Wash walls and ceilings,
    • Vacuum,
    • Assist with turf cleanliness,
    • Clean windows and glass around the facility,
    • Clean, organize, and maintain equipment and tools,
    • Maintain exterior building grounds,
    • Check and alarm building.
    • Open, close, and secure facility,
    • Collect garbage in and around facility,
    • Assist with set up/take down of rentals, events, meetings, programs,
    • Refill soap and toilet paper dispensers,
    • Clean drains of debris.
  • Perform general maintenance duties:
    • Minor repairs,
    • Shovel snow from outside pathways and emergency exits,
    • Paint,
    • Change light bulbs,
    • Collect and sort all recycling,
  • Operate equipment including but not limited to:
    • Snow removal equipment,
    • Floor scrubbers,
    • Genie boom lift.
2. Perform other facility related duties, including, but not limited to:
  • Moving soccer nets, hockey nets, volleyball poles, pickleball nets,
  • Re-stringing nets,
  • Removing and install signage,
  • Unloading delivery trucks,
  • Interact with the public (handle complaints, inquiries, accept deliveries) in a pleasant and courteous manner.
3. Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.Qualifications:Essential
  • Grade 10 or equivalent and/or relevant experience will be considered.
  • Ability to communicate with trade contractors and members of the public on behalf of the City of Woodstock.
  • Knowledge and experience in general repairs and cleaning duties.
  • Analytical/troubleshooting ability.
  • Good organizational skills.
Preferred
  • Working at Heights Certificate
  • Ladder Safety Training
  • Propane Handling Certificate
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C
Working Conditions:
  • Usual custodial and recreation conditions.
  • Required to do heavy lifting and climb ladders.
  • Subject to all weather conditions.
  • Required to work independently.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends
