Are you looking to break into the world of Design? Do you have a desire to learn and develop your Design skills? Would you like to join a team of professionals who design the best transport trailer on the road today? If so, we may have a position for you at Titan Trailers Inc.

The Junior Designer, Research and Development supports the development and research of R&D projects on various trailer designs. They will use their expertise in Pro-E and CREO to add elements for the trailers into our current 3D models. The successful candidate conforms to all established company policies and procedures and carries them out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration.

Job Duties

  • Assist in the design, drawing and trouble shooting of new and existing trailer configurations
  • Assist in updating drawings to latest Titan standards
  • Assist with custom work orders for in house repairs
  • Work hands on in the R&D shop to ensure the best possible outcomes
  • Interact with production personnel, dealers and vendors on drawing and design related issues
  • Work within a team of R&D staff to assist in the implementation of duties.
  • Generate spreadsheets and documents as needed for R&D documentation.
  • Notify the R&D Manager of all unusual occurrences encountered during the performance of assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist preferred
  • Must be proficient in 3-D software (CREO would be a definite asset) and familiar with AutoCAD
  • Experience creating designs for the automotive or trailer industry an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to perform daily design functions and to multi-task
  • Must be mechanically inclined and possess trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Must be able to multi task and work on several projects at once, or switch projects at a moment's notice
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet very tight deadlines

Regular hours are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00 am to 12 noon on Friday.

Some training is available for suitable candidates.

Must own reliable transportation and hold a valid driver's license

The starting wage for this position is dependent on experience and training. Upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period the candidate will be eligible to take part in our benefits package, including health, dental, life insurance, Group RRSP and safety boot/clothing allowance.
