Firehouse Subs is a brand founded by two firefighters in 1994, and now has over 1,200 locations in the US and Canada. Our sandwiches are unique because we slice our meats fresh in-house daily, and our steaming process awakens the flavours of our premium meats and cheeses. The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing a team in all aspects of restaurant operations. They will lead, mentor, and support the restaurant team and consistently motivate the team to achieve the highest standard of customer service and ensure efficiency in all aspects of the business. They are a hospitality professional that leads with a guest-centric mentality. This position will lead our Assistant Manager, Shift Leads, and Team Members on the front lines of our operations, adhering to and enforcing our standards, and ensuring that our guests are presented with a great experience..
This position will report to the Director of Operations.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to the restaurant team to consistently meet standards of superior guest service, quality and cleanliness while embracing the Firehouse Subs culture of a cheerful and fun work environment and Firehouse Subs beliefs and values to adhere to and grow the mission and vision.
Prepare schedules, manage labour costs, and ensure the restaurant is always properly staffed.
Full scope inventory management and food cost management. Place orders, ensure product availability, ensure FIFO is being used, ensure food is stored neatly and correctly.
Assign daily tasks to team members, ensuring daily prep is completed in a timely manner and ensuring the restaurant is setup for success every single day.
Ensure the profitability of business by operating within established guidelines and requirements for food cost, labor, controllable, utilities and sales growth.
Measure and evaluate performance standards (KPIs)
Develop and implement plans for continuous service improvement.
Ensure operational and occupational health and safety standards are followed.
Handle guest problems and complaints in an efficient and positive manner.
Coordinate and implement current operations game plans and company initiatives in a profitable and timely manner.
Be accountable for the continuous training and development of the restaurant Assistant Manager, Shift Leaders and Team Members.
Actively participate in Local Restaurant Marketing in local trade area.
Implement and promote all Public Safety Foundation initiatives.
Communicate effectively to the Director of Operations any and all issues that may impact our business.
Maintain restaurant equipment in full working order and communicates problems immediately.
Maintain cleaning routines and overall restaurant cleanliness.
Qualifications And Skills:
2+ years of restaurant management experience, or 2+ years in a supervisory role in a restaurant environment
Possess a positive attitude, be ready and willing to manage their team and serve customers, every day with a smile.
Be able to hire, train and motivate a high-performance team.
Understand and be able to manage food and labour costs.
Understand a Profit and Loss Statement and operate restaurant at maximum profitability.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
Strong analytical/decision-making skills.
Leadership skills able to direct, coach, and supervise a team
A positive and team-oriented attitude.
You must be able to perform efficiently during high volume peak periods.
Must be able to work flexible hours: day, evening, weekends and holidays.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite is required
This role will require 40 to 44 hours a week or when needed for the business
This job requires someone who has a valid Drivers License and access to a vehicle
