Our client, a prominent multi-service firm, is currently seeking an ambitious Associate lawyer to join their esteemed Personal Injury group in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will bring to the role a minimum of 2 years of experience in Personal Injury (AB), demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence in their work and a keen understanding of the significance of providing exceptional client service.

Your new role

In this new position, your duties will encompass drafting pleadings such as statements of claim, preparing motion materials, representing in motions court, participating in examinations for discovery, composing mediation memorandums, attending mediation sessions, scheduling trials, drafting pre-trial conference documents, participating in pre-trial conferences, and facilitating claim settlements. You will also be involved in various legal proceedings including examinations for discovery, case conferences, mediations, IBC and other insurance-related conferences, motions, appeals, pre-trial conferences, trials, as well as mediations/arbitrations and other hearings at the LAT, among others. Your responsibilities will span all aspects of a case, including investigations into liability, financial matters, and medical issues.

What you will need to succeed

For consideration for this role, a minimum of 2 years' post-call experience is required, showcasing a solid understanding and enthusiasm for personal injury law. The preferred candidate will possess expertise in the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS), proficiency in completing diverse insurance forms, and adeptness in managing Accident Benefit claims from start to resolution. You must excel under pressure, adeptly juggle priorities, and consistently meet deadlines. Additionally, strong teamwork, reliability, accountability, proactiveness, and a constructive work demeanor are essential attributes. Furthermore, active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario is expected.
