The Opportunity: The Recreation Aide role will be serving the community of Hythe Pioneer Assisted Living in Hythe Alberta!. The Recreation Aide is responsible for ensuring top resident care is priority, with an elevated level of focus in time management. We are looking for a caring professional, with strong leadership skills to guide our dynamic team who provide hospitality and wellness services within our supportive living community.

  • Ensures the performance of recreational services as specified in the Care/Service Plan
  • Facilitating and encouraging Resident advocacy
  • Responsible for audits and reports, providing and evaluating the delivery of recreational services based on the Resident Care Plan & Service Plan
  • Supports the residents in identifying personal leisure barriers
  • Follows the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety
  • Assisting with daily life and duties within the Community
  • Participates in projects and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain appropriate levels of certification
  • Someone who embodies patient leadership skills, while exemplifying team player behavioristics
  • Professional motivator, coach, and mentor

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:

  • Must hold valid certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Obtain prior to employment, a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
  • Experience working with seniors is preferred
  • Experience supporting recreation programs is preferred
