With the expansion of our Brandon facility, Cascadia Metals is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Machine Operator Lead-Hand. The successful candidate will be a driven team member who shares our champion mindset and values. This is a hands-on role, where the candidate is expected to complete tasks while providing support and leadership to other employees in the area. Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with production schedulers and other area leaders/supervisors.
- Report to the Operations Manager
- Adhere to proper procedure and safety regulations.
- Ensure correct personal protective equipment is always used.
- Promote safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Culminate a strong team culture - Lead by example.
- Monitor for potential mechanical problems and assist with routine maintenance.
- Be comfortable with all duties in the area - Direct and develop new and existing employees.
- Act as a role model, upholding Cascadia Metals' standards, values, and behaviours.
Requirements:
- Experience with industrial processing equipment and/or mechanical systems
- Must be highly mechanically inclined.
- Excellent communication, organizational & tracking skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide others.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Average computer skills.
- Physical capability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
- Preferred Experience:
- 1-2 years of leadership experience in a similar role.
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience.
