310T Mechanic
Reporting to the Shop Foreman, a 310T Licensed Technician (Mechanic) is responsible for the day-to-day preventative and post-incident repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles. This fast-paced, but diligent role will diagnose and carry out all repairs for mechanical issues and problems discovered in various commercial School Buses and civilian class vehicles. The incumbent will maintain a strong sense of customer service while interacting with various stakeholders, School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics, Apprentices and Governmental Agencies.
We have one position working out of our Guelph location.
Job Duties
- Perform Brake and Safety Inspections and carry out preventative maintenance
- Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month
- Perform service calls and cold starts as required
- Ensure you have knowledge of our safety policies and adhere to them
- Perform additional vehicle repairs as needed
- Adhere to compliance-based regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Municipal perspective
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with the supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace
Qualifications
- Possess and maintain in good standing a valid 310T License
- Valid Driver's License
- Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions
- Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices, particularly within the School Bus industry, is an asset
- Ability to work in team-based, collaborative work
