In this position, the Clinical Counsellor is knowledgeable and possesses hands-on experience delivering clinical counselling services to adults, children and families who are experiencing challenges in their lives and seeking support from the counselling services offered by our team. Working from a trauma sensitive, feminist and accessible approach, your counselling strategies align with the principles of YW Calgary and aims to empower those impacted by domestic violence and trauma.
This is a full-time, regular position working Monday to Friday with flexibility to work some evenings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Deliver clinical counselling therapeutic services to adults, children and families impacted by domestic violence
- Provide skill development, safety planning and education for parenting; for building safe and healthy relationships, mental health strategies and trauma management
- Complete Intake and Assessment
- Develop goal setting and treatment planning
- Provide resources, system navigation and facilitate community referrals
- Caseload management; includes maintaining clinical records and reporting requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge of issues related to family law, legal proceedings, parenting and child development
- Facilitate a parenting group
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or Counselling
- Registration in good standing with a relevant professional body under the Health Professions Act
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working with children and families impacted by domestic violence
- Working knowledge of the impacts of abuse, violence, and trauma on people across the lifespan; violence‐ and
abuse‐recovery; crisis intervention; and problematic substance use and its intersection with mental health and
traumatic stress - Training and experience in treatment options such as CBT, DBT, Family Systems Therapy, Solution‐Focused Brief therapy, Narrative therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and using a Strengths Based approach
- ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and First Aid required
- Ability to flex your schedule and work some evenings
- Great team orientation and collaboration skills
