HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Automation and Electrical Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, pneumatic, and control equipment, including PLCs, motor drives, sensors, and HMI systems. The role involves performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial robots and robotic systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Additionally, this technician will collaborate with other departments to address production needs.

  • Install, maintain, program, and calibrate control and electrical equipment such as PLCs, VFDs, Pneumatics, safety and robotic controllers.
  • Read and interpret electrical and robotic system schematics, technical manuals, and programming instructions. Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards during all maintenance and installation activities.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to enhance the performance and reliability of automated and robotic systems.
  • Develop and maintain preventive programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment.
  • Responsible for modifying existing automation control systems as well as designing, estimating, and commissioning PLC/HMI systems integrated with Robots.
  • Implement Safety Category 4 for all relevant installations, machinery, and robotics work cells.
  • Review all work conducted by contract workers to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Certify that the contractors have adhered to all safety standards.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications)

  • College Diploma – Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering Technology/Technician, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 2 to 5 years related experience
  • Certification in electrical, automation, or robotics technologies
  • Experience with PLC/HMI (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric, etc.), industrial networking protocols, and robotic systems such as ABB, FANUC, or KUKA.
