Job Overview

  • Qualified in pressure pipe welding according to ASME B31.1, B31.3, and B31.9, along with proficiency in welding to X-ray standards.
  • Welding of structural supports and skid frames using GMAW, FCAW, MCAW and GTAW.
  • Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal components according to project specifications.
  • Be able to Complete Welds to set Production times.
  • Perform welding repair and maintenance to production-related equipment, machinery, and structures .
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to execute precise welds.
  • Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements to pass NDE tests.
  • Prepare work pieces by cleaning, cutting, and shaping metal using various tools and equipment.
  • Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of components before welding.
  • Use welding and cutting equipment to fabricate metal components or parts.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to create accurate and precise metal structures.
  • Ensure that welding activities comply with industry safety standards and regulations: adhering to company's safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required Competencies and Qualifications

  • Class A Pressure Welder Ticket
  • CWB Welding Certification
  • Thorough knowledge of welding practices and techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints/ drawings and following instructions
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Driving License (preferred)
  • Confined Spaces (an asset)
  • Fall Protection (an asset)
