Our client based out of Ripley, ON is seeking a fulltime Maintenance Technician to join their team on a fulltime basis. Ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and will work in a food manufacturing environment in maintenance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on food production machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose issues, and repair or replace mechanical parts like motors, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
  • Inspect and repair pneumatic systems, including air compressors, hydraulic seals, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace electrical components, such as controls, sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers for both AC and DC systems.
  • Repair and replace damaged electrical wiring when issues such as shorts or broken wires occur.
  • Maintain HVAC systems to keep the facilitys climate control operating effectively.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance checks on equipment, including conveyors, water heaters, water pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, fans, and powered industrial machinery.
  • Perform welding tasks on equipment like conveyor frames, packaging equipment, carts, and safety guards.
  • Conduct general building maintenance, including structural repairs like windows, doors, and walls.
  • Repair plumbing issues to prevent water damage and ensure functional water fixtures.
  • Apply preventive treatments, such as sealing flat roofs, to minimize future repairs.
  • Address potential safety risks in the facility to prevent injuries.
  • Repaint areas as needed to maintain a clean and well-maintained facility appearance.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with skills in troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Basic to intermediate welding skills.
  • Basic HVAC maintenance experience.
  • Reliable, proactive, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with others.
  • Preferred experience in refrigeration, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds on occasion.
