Position Overview:
As a Tax Manager, you will be a key player in our tax team, working closely with partners and senior staff to deliver high-quality tax planning and compliance services to our clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, mentor a high-performing team, and contribute to the growth of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with partners and senior staff to develop and implement effective tax strategies for clients.
- Conducted technical research and developed tax planning recommendations.
- Manage a portfolio of tax services clients, ensuring the highest standards of service.
- Review tax returns and other tax-related work prepared by staff.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
- Oversee engagement financials, including budgets, WIP, variances, and billing.
- Mentor, train, and develop staff, leading professional development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Canadian CPA designation (must-have).
- Completion or near completion of the CPA In-depth Tax Program.
- 6+ years of Canadian tax experience at a CPA firm in Canada.
- Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and strategy for owner-managed/small businesses.
- At least two years in a Tax Manager role; HST experience is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a keen interest in business development.
