We are looking for a Double Backer for our Ancaster location. This position will be reporting to the Corrugator Supervisor. Rotating Shift 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am.

Broad Purpose

To safely operate and maintain all equipment and machinery to produce quality products per company quality policy

General Job Duties:

• Work in a team environment and be a team player
• Prepare the double backer for start-up which may require overtime
• Operate the double backer, keep machine running to production targets
• Make adjustments as required, wrap, starch etc.
• Visually and continually inspect for any non-conformances
• Prepare machine for shift shut down when required which may require overtime
• Perform quality checks after and during runs
• Perform housekeeping as required ie: clean-up conveyor and rollers
• Daily clean up and preventive maintenance at end of afternoon shift
• Follow all ISO procedures
• Report all problems to your Supervisor when they occur
• Other duties as assigned

Safety Responsibility and Accountability:

• Follow equipment specific physical lock out tag out procedure
• Mobile equipment operator to ensure daily operator checklist is completed after use. I.e. Clamp truck, Forklift, Elevated work platforms.
• Report all hazards / problems to your Supervisor when they occur.

Other available tools are when hazard rating is low.

• Pre-use inspection form
• Use Manager plus and place a work request
• Use of hazard reporting form
• Report injury / incident to your Supervisor immediately
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and Good housekeeping practices.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) – Gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, Hi- viz vest in Shipping/warehouse
• Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company
• Keep fire equipment and exits clear all time
• Zero Tolerance - Workplace Violence and Harassment: Refer to the policy posted on the H&S board.

Education:

Minimum High School Diploma

Basic Math

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

Previous manufacturing experience an asset

Machine operation skills

Organization skills

Good communication

Flexibility to work rotating shifts

Team Player

Self starter
