Your Team:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer to join H2Safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering within the oil and gas sector, with a particular focus on emergency response planning and related fields. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and hazard modelling is a definite asset. This role requires a proactive individual who will play a crucial role in protecting the public and environment.
The Role:
Hazard Modelling:
- Conduct dispersion modelling using ERCBH2S, ALOHA, RMP*Comp to determine Emergency Planning Zones (EPZ's).
Information Gathering:
- Review technical drawings and meet with clients to determine inputs into dispersion models.
Report writing:
- Collecting, reviewing, and validating pertinent data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Emergency Response Planning:
- Coordinate with other teams on the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive emergency response plans to ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.
Risk Assessment:
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to ERP Services and clients regarding Hazard Modelling.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in emergency response planning and implement innovative solutions to enhance safety and efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or related field). A Master's degree is a plus.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Alberta.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on emergency response planning.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to emergency response in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to emergency response planning. This would include the use of ERCBH2S, ALOHA, RMP*Comp, as well as completing H2S release rate reports.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications. VBA programming in Excel would be an asset.
- Ability to complete work with a focus on accuracy and compliance with quality control procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.
