Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build better lives for themselves.Position Summary:Reporting to the ReStore Manager and working together with the Customer Service Associate and Back End Associates, the Warehouse Lead assumes a role in overseeing the donor experience including pick-up and outside drop-offs of merchandise for the store. You will guide, advise and supervise both staff and volunteers through the donor process ensuring saleable product gets to the store floor as soon as possible. In the absence of the Restore Manager is the acting manager. Supervises the tax receipting coordination, advises staff on incoming product, monitors the maintenance and wear and tear of the affiliate vehicles and lift truck, organizes and maintains the cleanliness of the warehouse and ensures the adherence to our safety policies. Controls the fair pricing of inventory by utilizing the internet, staff and catalogues as guidance, maintains, updates and utilizes the POS database and pricing system. Additional responsibilities include forklift operation, customer service, sales, and merchandising and pick up of merchandise along with the tasks and responsibilities noted below.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Customer/Vendor Donations pickup

- Directly accountable for the donation pick up schedule, ensuring timely pickups with quality product
- Deliver professional and consistent communication when interacting with customers, donors, volunteers and staff
- Supporting and advocating our tax receipt program to current and potential donors
- Work with Donors to receive the right caliber of product quality pertaining to our retail image
- Assess needs for inventory and contact vendors by category
- Coordinate and arrange pick-up of goods by geographic zones
- Manages travel costs to budget guidelines
- Schedule regular maintenance and cleanliness of our affiliate's vehicles
- Assist with loading and receiving donated product
- Streamlining and enhancement of data base and categories
- Ensures all inventory is fully checked, repaired, in working order and suitable for sale having clear and visible pricing before going to the sales floor
- Researching new product and pricing for maximum return
- Working with the Volunteer-Recruitment Manager and ReStore Manager to support volunteer retention
- Assess the strengths of incoming and existing volunteers to achieve maximum output
- Provide direction to volunteers to bring product to the floor, housekeeping of their work areas, ensuring they have work to perform
- Provide ongoing health & safety support, including training, daily check ins to support the volunteer experience
- Visioning new improvements to warehouse organization
- Use of the forklift to CSA standards, maintains the forklift; weekly inspections, battery levels, coordinates preventative maintenance
- Monitors our disposal costs to budget guidelines, implements new strategies for curbing escalating costs
- Coordinates the pickup of metal recycling, waste disposal and paint disposal program
- Tends to the clean-up of the outside receiving area and store's back lot, along with general upkeep and maintenance issues
- Responsible for ensuring product is repaired, cleaned, and or tested prior to moving onto floor and priced as per our pricing guide and policies
- Leads by example and ensures volunteers and staff adhere to all safety practices on a regular basis
- Ensures warehouse product is safely displayed at all times
- Obtains required certification as it relates to all things joint health & safety related
- Participates in the JHSC representing the store
- Post-Secondary Education or equivalent, standard G type license trained in commercial vehicle operation
- Experience preferred in an in-person customer service-related field, warehouse management and forklift certified an asset
- Well-developed professional communication and motivational skills when working with donors, suppliers, volunteers, and staff members
- Strong computer skills; MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Database Management software experience
- Sound judgment, prioritization, and organization skills
- Self-starter, high energy, and strong independent work ethic
- Variable weekly schedule due to demand
- Heavy lifting is a requirement of this role at times
