About veritree:

veritree is a planting management platform developed by tentree, a restorative apparel company that plants ten trees for every item sold. The technology that has powered tentree's tree planting is now accessible to other organizations who also want to help restore the planet through nature-based solutions.

About the role:

veritree is inventing new approaches to digitally monitoring, reporting, and verifying (dMRV) nature-based climate solutions (i.e., reforestation). As such, we're seeking a Product Designer to create user-centric interfaces for our platform. This individual will need to understand the needs of our Corporate Partners/Planting Partners/internal team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design intuitive and engaging user experiences.

This role requires creative design skills, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of user-centred design principles. The successful candidate must have:

  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail;
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies;
  • Ability to communicate design concepts and decisions concisely;
  • Experience with responsive and mobile design:
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills in a cross-functional environment;
  • Familiarity with agile development processes;
  • Knowledge of design systems and their implementation.


Key outcomes for this role in the next 12 months include:

  • Design new web interactions, screens, and flows
  • Design new android native interactions, screens, and flows
  • Understand the application, customer needs and recommend UX improvements
  • Take part in requirements gathering, solution planning, and bring a UX view to the process
  • Collaborate with product management and development to ensure high quality UX solutions are delivered
  • Provide design QA for built solutions and help improve overall UX quality
Job responsibilities:

Stakeholder Collaboration, Communication, and Analysis

  • You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand and help prioritize user goals, needs, and constraints.
  • When needed, you will conduct user research to understand user behaviours, needs, and pain points.
  • You will collaborate effectively in an agile development environment.
  • You will analyze data and feedback to inform design decisions and improvements and continuously improve the product.

Wireframing, Prototyping, and Interface Design

  • You will create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts.
  • You will iterate on designs based on feedback and usability testing.
  • You will develop high-fidelity visual designs for digital interfaces, considering both aesthetics and functionality.
  • You will ensure consistency in design elements and brand guidelines across products.
  • You will gather and incorporate user feedback into the design process.
  • You will ensure that designs adhere to accessibility standards, making products usable by diverse users.

Design Trends, Documentation and Tools

  • You will keep abreast of design trends, tools, and industry best practices.
  • You will incorporate innovative design concepts into projects.
  • You will create and maintain design documentation, including design specifications and guidelines.
  • You will utilize design and collaboration tools effectively (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro) to create and share design assets.

Requirements

Professional Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or a similar role at a technology company.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Understanding of front-end development technologies and their impact on design.

A typical hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $125,000 CAD per year with the final salary offer based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
