Job Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Planner and Supply Chain Lead will plan and oversee the production and delivery of products across JDRF's supply chain. This includes managing global inventory, coordinating outsourced production, and ensuring quality standards, deadlines, and cost objectives are met. The role also encompasses procurement, sourcing, and logistics oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain supply plans and schedules for outsourced manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate timelines with external suppliers to align with supply and demand requirements.
- Forecast material and resource needs to prevent delays.
- Implement strategic inventory management to minimize supply risks and costs.
Supplier Management:
- Select, evaluate, and manage supplier and contract manufacturer relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure compliance with product specifications.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Oversee the delivery of raw materials and components to suppliers.
- Manage logistics for inbound and outbound goods.
- Work with procurement and logistics teams to optimize the supply chain.
- Ensure on-time customer delivery.
Cost and Risk Management:
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, capacity constraints, and material shortages.
Data and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production schedules, supplier performance, and costs.
- Prepare detailed reports on outsourcing activities for Supplier QBR interactions.
Position Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing planning or supply chain management.
- Hands-on experience with contract manufacturing processes and supplier management.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Business Central or MS Dynamics ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
