POSITION SUMMARY

The Buyer will play a crucial role in developing and executing effective buying strategies to achieve cost minimization, reduce lead times, enhance supplier service, and ensure an efficient Source to Pay process. This role is pivotal in ensuring that we achieve the most favorable total costs while aligning with quality standards and customer service objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the complete purchase order (PO) process, encompassing creation, delivery coordination, and supplier payment, ensuring demand requirements across all assigned supply areas (e.g., Parts Inventory, MRO, CSpares).
  • Act as a backup and provide support to the Buyer handling Contract Spares (CSpares).
  • Collaborate with Inventory Planning and Operations Management to ensure adequate stock levels that meet customer demand.
  • Facilitate rapid and accurate communication to internal customers to maintain optimal service levels.
  • Maintain purchasing databases to ensure data accuracy, delivering necessary insights to Category Supervisors, Managers, and fellow buyers.
  • Identify opportunities for sourcing and assist in crafting plans that secure supply while minimizing disruptions as per the category sourcing strategy.
  • Enhance professional relationships with suppliers and optimize purchasing strategies to strengthen business competitiveness.
  • Employ scorecard tools to evaluate Supplier Performance KPIs and drive necessary improvements with suppliers.
  • Support the Category Supervisor/Manager on special projects as required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management roles.
  • Proficient in purchasing practices, negotiations, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
