Who we need
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Curriculum Design, we are hiring a Curriculum Design Specialist. You will play a crucial role in developing and renewing academic programs, instructional and assessment practices, and learning materials. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, course developers, and faculty to support the design and development of face-to-face, online, and blended curricula for a growing suite of programs across a variety of credential types, disciplines, and audiences.
This is a hybrid role, working 2-3 days a month at our Toronto campus.

As our new Curriculum Design Specialist, you will:
- Collaborate. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, course developers, and faculty to understand the goals of new and existing academic programs. You will analyze and translate the program goals into comprehensive curricula, including but not limited to learning outcomes, assessments, and content.
- Develop. You will integrate innovative and effective instructional strategies, technologies, and resources into curriculum design to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Evaluate. You will review curricular needs and recommend instructional and assessment strategies that account for regulatory requirements, align with program and course learning outcomes, and model accessible, authentic, and culturally responsive pedagogies.
- Continuously improve. You will stay current with educational research, pedagogical trends, and advancements in curriculum design and share relevant insights with the team. You will analyze existing curricula alongside available data, including student and stakeholder feedback, to identify areas for improvement or revision to address changing educational needs.
- Communicate. You will track and report on progress on curriculum development and renewal projects and proactively identify and communicate risks to the timely completion of curriculum projects. You will meet and share knowledge regularly with your manager, colleagues, and collaborators to support transparency in the curriculum and instructional design process.
You have:
- The experience. You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree. You have proven experience as a curriculum designer, instructional designer, or content developer. Or, you have transferrable expertise and a commitment to growing your skills. You bring a creative and innovative mindset with a passion for knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and lifelong learning. You may be familiar with adult education principles and practices through experience in public or private sector training and delivery or education and teaching at different levels.
- The project management skills. You are driven and have outstanding self-management skills. You can set and track project deliverables, maintain open communication with cross-functional teams, elicit work products from those around you, and meet your deadlines. You can prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- The interpersonal skills. You have exceptional oral and written communication skills. You can build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders. You prioritize taking and fostering a collaborative and inclusive approach to curriculum design and can engage program leadership, subject matter experts, and faculty to understand evolving needs and requirements. You are a creative problem solver, able to balance and shift priorities, anticipate and respond to issues, and manage change effectively.
- The technical skills. You are highly proficient with the MS Office suite, including Teams. You are comfortable analyzing, aggregating, and interpreting data and can create presentations to show your findings and inform decisions. You are familiar with using AI technology, educational tools, and learning management systems (LMS).
- The nice-to-have but optional skills. You have in-depth knowledge of curriculum development principles, educational standards, and instructional design models. You are familiar with relevant provincial, federal, and international accessibility standards, such as AODA and WCAG. You have a strong understanding of pedagogical theories, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.
